I like to find ways to give throughout the year, but the holidays are an especially nice time to be thankful and give back. Toy and food drives are usually my go-to, but this year I have some warm clothing to donate. I started researching options in our community and figured it might be nice to publish a "Giving List" in case anyone else is looking for ways to donate locally. These are just a few of my favorites - if you have a suggestion please feel free to add in the comments! Season of Hope (Unwrapped toys and non-perishable food) http://www.ksby.com/category/297068/season-of-hope SLO CASA - Make a donation on behalf of someone and help our local kids. Great for corporate gifting too! http://www.slocasa.org/donate.php Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo - There are so many ways to give with the Food Bank, click the "ways to give" tab to learn more! http://www.slofoodbank.org/ Children's Resource Network of the Central Coast (Toys, clothing, back packs, shoes, school supplies and more) http://www.childrensresourcenetwork.org/in-kind-donation.htm Glean SLO - Donate your time by signing up to help harvest fruits and vegetables for the Food Bank Coalition. http://www.gleanslo.org/ To keep it super simple you can also just check out your local grocery store. Most have collection bins out so you can just pick up a couple extra items and donate as you check out. Happy Thanksgiving all!
